It makes sense that Issue 10 cover artist D Summers was born on the 4th of July. Aside from working as a Aircraft Fuel Systems specialist with the Air Force, the Cancer was born in Ohio, raised in and reps Detroit, studied in Arizona (“Forks Up!”), and now lives in Fresno. It’s safe to say D Summers has touched more corners and cultures of the United States than most do at this point in their career.

D Summers’ music taste is clearly influenced by these different regions as well. He tells UNDRGRND Magazine that his biggest musical inspirations include the likes of #ChrisBrown, #NWA, Zapp & Roger and #SpeakerKnockerz. These varied interests have ultimately laid the groundwork for D Summers’ versatility in his own catalog.

D has been making music and “taking it seriously” since about the mid-to-late 2010s. June 2023 brought D Summers’ most recent full-length project—“House Party.” The album spans 11 tracks with two features from MGM Flash. “House Party” was followed by a short 3-song pack dropped in February 2024, a collaborative effort with Farmerville, CA producer @poowattadobeatz. The last couple years have been particularly successful for the Midwesterner—he’s been played on the radio multiple times, has a solid promo plan behind his YouTube content, and has solidified his relationship with producer/engineer @dredamost.

Away from the mic (and the Air Force), D Summers is an avid photographer & fashion entrepreneur. In his down time you can catch him street racing, hitting shooting ranges, and practicing Taekwondo. He also enjoys Famous Dave's BBQ, while his favorite movie of all time is no other than Marvel mega-hit “Avenger’s Endgame” (2019).
