Belle

UNDRGRND Issue #1 “The 805”

Meet Isabel De La Cruz ("Belle"), a 21-year-old from Newbury Park, Calif. Her electric live performances mixed with her no-nonsense trap spunk makes her one of the must-follow acts in the Ventura County rap scene. The Newbury Park High School graduate made her first splash in the music game after songs “Counterfeit” and “Antisocial” caught fire on SoundCloud in 2018. She notes Doja Cat and Rico Nasty as some of her biggest music influences, and has been working on adding a more melodic (“singing”) sound to her musical tool belt.

If you rock with Belle, you know one thing is for sure—she has a fan base as loyal as anyone’s in the underground music scene. At our UNDRGRND Magazine release events, Belle’s followers came out in waves to support, making up a large portion of the crowd and giving her set an energy we didn’t expect.

Belle appeared as a featured artist on Deo Cane’s 2020 project PTA, with a guest verse on the album’s second track, “Upset.” After moving to Utah for a short period in 2020 to study esthetics, Belle is back in “The 805” and grinding to prepare her debut solo album, along with subsequent music videos and shows.

“I started making music at a time in my life where I felt like a loser. I didn’t have a hobby. If I make it big, I make it big. If I don’t, I don’t. I’m still gonna make music just for the sole purpose that it’s a good outlet to clear your mind.”
