Big Eph, a 28-year-old rapper and songwriter from the Crenshaw District of Los Angeles, has had one of the best 2024 Seasons in the underground LA music game. His journey to success began behind the scenes, writing for established artists like Rubi Rose, and later Cardi B, in the late 2010s/early 2020s.
"[A friend] was on the phone with Rubi [Rose] and my song was playing in the background and she ended up fucking with the song,” Big Eph says. “My homie was like, ‘Well shit you want the song?’ She was like, ‘Hell yeah,’ and ended up sending us a black truck to go to the studio right then and there."
His relationship with Rubi led him to Atlanta, GA, where she introduced him to industry heavyweights like Mike WiLL Made-It at the Ear Drummers compound.
"Every room we walked in,” says Big Eph, “RUBI would let people know, ‘This the hardest songwriter in the world,’”
In 2022, Big Eph decided to step into the spotlight as a solo artist. He released his first record, "Euphoria," followed by albums Thought I Was Late and The Entry in 2023. The next year, Big Eph dropped songs with LA standouts RJMrLA, Wallie the Sensei, Azjah, Leeky2x, Jayson Cash, Donny Loc and more.
"In 2025, I want to work with YG,” he says.
