UNDRGRND Issue 7: "Scenes Collide: Part 2"

It's time to meet DG, a Vallejo, Calif. native who grew up in beautiful Carpinteria, Calif., a small beach town frequently visited by surrounding 805 locals in the summertime. Like Carpinteria, DG himself has a charm you can't help but love. The Leo has been making music for over a decade, with a brief stint in the mainstream spotlight at age 19, when multiple music videos reached over a million views collectively on the infamous hip-hop platform WorldStarHipHop ("WSHH").

Today, the 28-year-old stays in Ventura, and is a completely new, revamped, and refreshed artist. We first heard of DG through some of our OG UNDRGRND veterans, like Issue 1's Kado Khalil, who told me about another Ventura kid our age working hard and doing his thing in the underground 805 network. I specifically remember the first time I saw DG on Instagram: this "maybe too-confident," "maybe-just-the-perfect-amount-of-confident," big & bold personality. Reminds me of Pofsky right away — and that's a big compliment.

DG drops his tracks at a consistent rate. While we're still waiting on his first official drop of this year, DG has five solid singles from 2022 active in his catalog. The Issue 7 cover artist can hit tough vocals both in the studio and during live performances, and has some sick music videos featured on his YouTube (go peep!). In his spare time, DG tells UNDRGRND Magazine that he enjoys playing football & basketball, and is a beast at the "Madden" video game series (Andrew & DG gotta get a run in, lowkey you don't want this Hit-Stick). DG's favorite movies are "Hot Tub Time Machine" (2010) & The Godfather (1972), and shouts out "Power" (executively produced by 50 Cent) as his top TV show.
