Decifer
UNDRGRND Issue 7: "Scenes Collide: Part 2"
Decifer is a 32-year-old rapper, producer, graffiti artist and graphic designer born in Sun Valley and raised in Canoga Park, Calif. A first-time UNDRGRND cover artist, Pofsky & Andrew met Decifer back in 2020 at Ozzy Lima's tattoo shop ("Kustom Kulture Tattoo") in Reseda, Calif., at a time Decifer describes as musically productive but also riddled with distractions. For the next three years, we kept our eyes on Decifer and the moves he was making in the beautiful San Fernando Valley ("The 818"), and our proud to officially have him on the cover of UNDRGRND Magazine Issue 7: "Scenes Collide: Part 2."
In August 2022, Decifer dropped his most impressive project to date, "Sin Filled Valley." The nine song album showcases the professional mixing skills of Marvs Productions (Decifer's regular engineer), and even includes a feature from rising San Diego hip-hop star, 22gfay. However, Decifer tells UNDRGRND that his most memorable music moment came when his track “Prius" was featured on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (that's for sure an UNDRGRND first haha).
Outside of music, the Capricorn enjoys hanging out with his two daughters, hitting the gym, and watching "The Office." In addition to recording music, producing, and graphic design, the Kaplan College graduate works as a Medical Assistant at a rehab center in the Los Angeles area. When it comes to 818 grub, Decifer recommends New York Chicken & Gyro located on Topanga Canyon Blvd in Canoga Park.
