Frankiii

UNDRGRND Issue #2 “The 805: Part 2”

We first met Francisco Lara Wood (“Frankiii”) at our UNDRGRND concert auditions in February 2020, where he performed 805 trap anthem “Kenny Lockett” alongside vudu and !Tsce|erat. The trio was chosen as the winners, earning a spot on our UNDRGRND stage for the next month’s show.

As 2020 continued, Frankiii’s musical versatility gained buzz in the local hip-hop community. A student at Los Angeles Recording School, Frankiii is a talented engineer, producer, and vocalist all morphed into the Thousand Oaks High School alum’s 5-foot-9-inch body.

Frankiii has currently taken a hiatus from recording songs for himself, instead choosing to engineer and produce tracks for other artists out of his home studio—a lucrative move that he finds better showcases his true musical skillset. Local artists who have stepped foot in Frankiii’s home studio include Ty Fighter, Jay Jaber, FXCLELEXX, vudu, and more.

The 20-year-old nods to Kenny Beats and Mike WiLL Made-It as strong influences on his music, and his favorite artist of all time is Kendrick Lamar. Frankiii enjoys cannabis farming and riding BMX when not mixing or recording.

“I can wake up and fall asleep in the studio, simple as that...if someone’s like ‘hey, I got $50, I need a custom beat’, cool, whip that up in an hour in my room, in the comfortability of my home, send it to them.”
