Introducing the three-time Grammy nominated singer, songwriter, producer, engineer and father, Garren. Hailing from Compton, California, he graces his Issue 7 Exclusive Cover with his daughter, Knovi.

"She's my only child," he says. "All the things that I've been through in the industry, all the things I sacrificed. My purpose is for her."

Garren began his musical journey singing in the choir and playing multiple instruments. He credits his auntie with giving him the confidence to tap into his versatile skill set at just eight years old.

"I'm a true musician. I even got country records where I'm really singing. My auntie brought that out."

To date, Garren has seen Grammy nominations through his vocal and writing contributions on Nipsey Hussle & Kendrick Lamar's 2018 hit "Dedication," the 2019 Revenge of the Dreamers III compilation tape, and Nas & Hit-Boy's 2021 King's Disease Il album. Additionally, Garren's discography boasts collaborations with Eric Bellinger, G Perico, Cozz, and more. He has even toured with the likes of Phora and 24hrs.

Garren is someone who isn't afraid to enter a room with big names in it. He tells UNDRGRND that he excels when in the presence of legends, and puts in effort to ask the right questions and take feedback from those who've done it before him.

"I asked Nas a very important question," Garren recalls from his first time meeting the East Coast hip-hop icon.

'What would you tell Nas, if Nas was where Garren is right now, in a room with a legend like Nas?'"

According to Garren, the two had a 15-minute conversation in the kitchen of the studio they were recording at.

2022 saw seven singles and a full-length project from Garren. He released the nine-track solo album, Spiritual Warfare in March 2023, and tells fans to expect more from him soon this year.
