J.ME

UNDRGRND Issue #2 “The 805: Part 2”

Widely considered “805’s Queen of Rnb,” J.ME was born in Clarksville, Tenn. but moved with her family to Ventura before entering high school. J.ME has sparked conversation within the underground local music scene for her ability to balance beautiful melodies with harder hip-hop flows. The 25-year-old is alumna of Buena High School, and is quickly growing one of the most loyal fanbases in “The 805.”

J.ME has an impressive catalog of music, with tracks “Hustler,” “Fire,” and her 2020 EP, Pretty High, leading the charge. Despite only making music seriously for just over a year, she has already gained respect from other underground artists in the area, proven by her collab tracks with Oxnard’s Big E, OG David James, and LeoohhDaFool.

The “We Ride” artist’s secret weapon is her consistency and expertise in social media—with most releases come a music video and snippets, all boasting professional cover art and label-quality roll outs.

She has been featured multiple times on the local “Rico and Mambo” radio show, and is a graduate of Ventura College’s business program. Outside of music, J.ME is an eyelash esthetician, and enjoys cooking and smoking the world’s finest weed strains.

“I’m at the point where I'm just starting to actually have a music career. People now know who I am. My name is starting to get out. I feel like I just got everyone's attention.”
