KaceyFamily

UNDRGRND Issue 5 “The Central Coast”

Born Keith C. Howard (“the ‘C’ doesn’t stand for nothing”), KaceyFamily is one of the most talented bar-spitters out of the Central Coast. The 27-year-old rapper is a graduate of Arroyo Grande High School, and wears his pride of The 805 as loud as anyone. UNDRGRND first met Kacey through Issue 2 fan-favorite BOBBYBEENFRESH, a fellow Grover Beach native who has been friends with Kacey for over a decade.

While KaceyFamily remains an independent artist, he has garnered an unusually large amount of respect from the local rap community around him. His impactful lyrics and excellent delivery make him stand out both in the studio and on stage. Kacey has released a number of impressive singles—definitely check out “The Plan,” and “Poison”—and is currently teasing the release of his highly-anticipated debut album The Hard Way

Outside of music, KaceyFamily is a talented barber. He is a father of two, and told UNDRGRND his favorite movie and TV show are “Soul” and Lil Dicky’s “Dave,” respectively. He says his favorite local place to eat is Denny’s, and shouts out D Banks from Connect the Coast as “next up” from The 805.

Fans of KaceyFamily are drawn to his storytelling. He tells vivid experiences of his problems with authority, maturing into an adult with real responsibilities, and his charming loyalty to his friends and family. Kacey utilizes musicians from the Central Coast to create his music: he is a regular client of Morro Bay engineer Food Product, and says his go-to producer is Grover Beach’s Cazz Lorde.

“I don't say ‘KaceyFamily’ because I'm the perfect family man. I say ‘KaceyFamily’ because I understand what's important.”
