Straight out of North Las Vegas comes LEROYCHOPS. The former Cheyenne High School student wears “Sin City” on his sleeve and is an undisputed leader in the 702’s underground rap culture.
We first found out about LEROYCHOPS due to his natural networking efforts. In the mid-2010s he drove from Vegas to Ventura, California, to perform at a showcase thrown by local legends Kontra Mantis and Wildflower Jess. It was at this show where LEROYCHOPS and Michael Pofsky crossed paths — thus, our relationship was born.
In July 2021, LEROYCHOPS released the four-track EP.02, featuring Vegas artists Spkrboxxx and Trade Voorhees. According to CHOPS, EP.02 was originally released the day before Nipsey Hussle was killed in March 2019. Due to the comical nature of the project, LEROYCHOPS told UNDRGRND that he pulled the project off streaming services when Hussle passed, finally rereleasing it over two years later to public consumption.
LEROYCHOPS has a clear willingness to collaborate, but his outgoing personality is what runs his likeability through the roof. He is also a proud father, and one of the most high energy performers we’ve had on an UNDRGRND stage. He shouts out Hamburger Hut as his favorite Vegas food joint, and says S-U-PREME and SeDrew Price are his dream local features. He is also UNDRGRND’s vote for best tour guide in Las Vegas.
