L.I.R.A.

UNDRGRND Issue 3 “Scenes Collide”

L.I.R.A. (real name “Victor Lira”) is a 30-year-old rapper out of Oxnard known best for his storytelling. The name L.I.R.A. is an initialism using the letters of his surname and the phrase “Lyrically Infinite Relevant Art.” The Virgo brings a quality of impressive songwriting to the UNDRGRND world. He discusses topics such as social and economic injustices, nostalgia in hip-hop culture, spirituality, and the greed that comes with capitalism — evident in his most popular songs to date “P.P.P.P.” and “MONEY.”

L.I.R.A. is also a regular at Ventura’s Record X Studios, birthing his close relationship with head engineer and recording artist Mind Off (Issue 2). L.I.R.A. calls out 2Pac, J. Cole, Slick Rick as his biggest musical influences, and told UNDRGRND that Fresh ‘Til Death by BOBBYBEENFRESH and Alone by Mind Off were his favorite recent 805 projects. Outside of music, L.I.R.A. is a retail manager, watches “Friends,” meditates, and enjoys the garlic bread at Wood Ranch.

“I want to be known for storytelling. The ‘lyricalness’ of music is something that is very important to me. I want to be able to make people feel.”
