Hometown: Arroyo Grande, CA

In the small town of Arroyo Grande, Ca — nestled on the coast of #SanLuisObispo County — comes 21-year-old student and RnB rapper, Aidan Murphy, or ‘Murph’. Starting his music career in 2022, Murph began recording music in his college dorm at the University of Hawaii, eventually leading him to the world of professional production spaces.

“I got tired of [the home setup], and I was like, ‘I need to get in the studio.’” Murph said. “I pulled up to Idea Studios and laid my first track down. That’s kind of where it all started.”

Now back in #California, Murph has been progressively working his way to collaborating with more artists and producers. In May 2024, Murph attended the UNDRGRND x @gmbeatz Writing Camp, where he was surrounded by and working directly with 20 other talented #singers, #rappers, and #producers. Being used to the solo artist environment, Murph tells us that the camp was quite the learning experience for him.

“That was the first time I’ve really been in a large crowd like that where I can actually be with other people that create and collaborate,” Murph said.

Recently, Murph has been working closely with producers @shoutoutdanjames & @prodbylvbaby. Both producers played a role in Murph’s newest release — “Body Work” — prod by both LV Baby & Dan James, also engineered by Dan James.

”I’m just going off the momentum I’ve had,” Murph said. “From, you know, coming and working here with UNDRGRND and kind of finally being able to kind of get my foot in the door for the first time and the energy I’ve been feeling from that.”

Aside from being an artist, Murph doubles as a student. He recently transferred to #CalPolySLO, beginning classes this Fall 2024.
