Nidia Martinez

UNDRGRND Issue 4 “Sin City”

Nidia Martinez is a 23-year-old Washington-born, Las Vegas-raised singer/songwriter. Born into a musical family — her mom sang Spanish music and her dad pursued it as a career in Los Angeles when Nidia was a small child — Martinez attended Las Vegas Academy of the Arts in high school.

She is among the more talented guitar players in UNDRGRND Magazine’s history, and brings an alternative sound that is refreshing in the underground music communities of both Las Vegas and ‘The 805.” The former restaurant hostess carries strength in her consistency and ability to collaborate. In 2021 alone, Martinez released singles “Think You’d Do Better” (feat. Toryon), “On Your Own” (feat. ATOM), and “Another City,” teasing an upcoming project.

Martinez claims her biggest music moment was performing at a cathedral in Spain with her high school choir. She finds inspiration from Frank Ocean, and says Lazeez Grill is her food recommendation for anyone visiting Vegas. Martinez recently got her real estate license and dreams of one day owning a music publishing company.

“I feel like I was the one to carry the torch.”
