UNDRGRND Issue 4 “Sin City”

Born Michael Smith, “1K” is that special mix of  intelligent lyricsm and high energy trap flows. The father of one was raised primarily in Los Angeles, but relocated back to his birth town of Vegas in the mid-2010s.

1K isn’t short on music. His 2020 EP Free carried some of the UNDRGRND fan-favorite bangers from the “Sin City” magazine run, particularly “Bike$,” and “OUT!” — which are both accompanied with quality music videos. In Sept. 2020, 1K followed up the four-track project with a single titled “I’m Juss Saiyan” (feat. Neb Doe), a turnt nod to “Dragon Ball Z.”

Currently, the 29-year-old is teasing a new album, Villains, but a release date has yet been given. “It's a turnt look at going down the abyss,” he says of the project. “It's kind of giving you the darker side of things.”

1K works as a sports book supervisor at the new Resorts World hotel & casino on The Strip, and enjoys watching basketball and football with his friends and son in his free time. He is a self-proclaimed coffee addict, and is an avid festival and concert attendee.

“I've never been more serious and focused and at a point where I have control of my career.”
