UNDRGRND Issue 7: "Scenes Collide: Part 2"
A true 805 product, Preach It 2 Em' Chris! was born in Ventura but raised in neighboring Oxnard, California. The 23-year-old has only been making music for about two years, but has already landed production placements with Blueface, Lil Seeto, MoneySign Suede, Young Slo-be (RIP), and more of this wave's grimiest current stars. Outside of just producing, Chris sings and raps as well, releasing his most recent track "Olay" at the end of 2022.
The UC Davis double-major graduate is pursuing a Master's Degree in school counseling. It was when he originally moved north for college that he was introduced to the modern Bay Area rap scene & culture. Two years later, Chris has established himself a key player and tastemaker in the scene. In July 2022, he was announced as one of "20 NorCal Producers to Look Out For" by Thizzler, a popular Bay Area-centric underground hip-hop outlet.
Like many who came before him, Preach It 2 Em' Chris! is an UNDRGRND cover artist who regularly calls on MindOff (Issue 2) and Record X Studios to record/mix his music (shoutout the goat, Alec). In his personal time, Chris tells UNDRGRND he enjoys playing basketball and shooting pool, and says his all-time favorite place to eat is L&L Hawaiian Barbecue in his hometown of Oxnard.
