Rimi

UNDRGRND Issue 3 “Scenes Collide”

Rimi is a rapper, producer and business owner representing California’s beautiful Woodland Hills. UNDRGRND first met the now 28-year-old Capricorn at the September 2020 “Compound Sessions” in Big Bear, organized by mutual connect Jeffrey Turner (“Hefe.Mixed.It”). A few months later, we teamed up with Rimi for UNDRGRND Issue 3.

Perhaps his most impressive project to date, Reputation, hit online stores in mid-August 2021. Rimi, also co-founder of the Resonated Records music label, was on a singles hot streak in the months leading up to the album’s release. The 2020 & 2021 drops of “Light It Up,” “Rounds” (feat. Drayon), and “Boomin’” hinted at the quality we should expect on Reputation, and at the natural understanding Rimi and his team have at promotion and rollouts. He has a multitude of high-budget music videos, carries a friendly energy into a collaboration environment, and has an obvious love for freestyling.

A true San Fernando Valley native, Rimi enjoys frequenting JOEY, a popular bar and grill located in the Westfield Topanga shopping mall. He says his biggest musical influences are Biggie Smalls, Jay-Z, Drake, and J. Cole. Outside of the studio, Rimi enjoys watching “The Office” and “Uncut Gems,” and is a Politial Science graduate from California State University Northridge.

“With music, no one else is going to go out of their way and be like, ‘I wanna help you with your career.’ You gotta give them a reason, right?”
