Sensei Kyh

Issue 13

Hometown: Stone Mountain, GA

Sensei Kyh is the first ever UNDRGRND Magazine artist from Stone Mountain, GA, a small city 30 minutes east of Atlanta. Sensei Kyh began making music while attending Druid Hills High School, eventually carrying this hobby with him to Albany State.

Since graduating school, Kyh has released a handful of projects, including his debut mixtape — "Sensei Handbook" — a 2017 tape featuring Nature Boy, Sir Gates, Saynt Nick, and others from that late 2010's Sensei Kyh era. The singer/rapper has also performed at multiple shows in GA and California, dropped many successful music videos, and moved to Los Angeles in 2019 in hopes of furthering his creative network and career.

With 16 years of music making experience under his belt, Kyh has proved his value both on and off the mic. He currently works as a full-time podcast producer for 9+ weekly podcasts through the Reentry Network Podcast — an LA-based podcast platform which aims at giving a voice to the incarcerated. Aside from engineering and editing every episode on the platform, Sensei Kyh hosts his own show, "Dojo Sessions." Dojo Sessions kicked off this past fall, with UNDRGRND's Andrew Mason & Michael Pofsky as the official first guests.

Outside of music and work, Sensei Kyh enjoys fitness and exploring new places, and tells us his all-time favorite movie is "The Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise.
