UNDRGRND Reacts: Roux's Music
by Andrew Mason | Dec. 20th, 2024 | UNDRGRND Magazine
“WOAH”
AJ: “Reminds me of an early Travis Scott era song, like something from Days Before Rodeo. Just a hype vibe.”
Flo: “This is definitely my favorite of the two. The beat was really dope and I really liked his flow, and I was banging my head along and loved the chorus. It was really catchy and I wanted to sing along with it. At times it was a little hard to understand what Roux was saying, though. I know that that's kind of a lot of peoples’ style now, so I get it, but it would have made it easier to sing along to. Overall, it felt like a song that I would have added already to my ‘Liked Songs.’”
ATM: “I fuck with the vibe and cadence with this song, I can definitely feel it, and honestly it’s giving Travis Scott vibes for the melodic part. Criticism wise, I’d say the delivery could be worked on for his future tracks, flow was on point, but it sounded almost like he was reading the lyrics at spots.”
“ANYTHING GOES”
AJ: “This one is a nice, chill one. The mixing on Roux’s voice stands out the most to me about this song. Very well mixed.”
Flo: “I did think ‘Woah’ was more original than ‘Anything Goes.’ ‘Anything Goes’ felt like something I may have heard before, but still, it was a good song. It was easier to understand him in this song, so I liked that. But it just felt like there could've been something more that made it more unique.”
ATM: “‘Anything Goes’ is giving those ‘late night rain drive’ vibes for real. You can forsure smoke a blunt to this one. In my opinion this one sounds more personal and closer to the heart than ‘Woah’.”

Los Angeles-based artist Roux officially began releasing music to streaming platforms in October 2024. Less than 90 days into his professional career, Roux has dropped two singles — “Woah” (Oct) & “Anything Goes” (Nov).
And while he’s still just warming up, we thought it was time to put Roux’s music to the test. It’s good for an artist at any point in their journey to get feedback — both positive and critical — from outside ears.
Time to bring in AJ, Flo, and ATM — three reliable voices in and around the UNDRGRND Universe who were kind enough to listen to “Woah” and “Anything Goes” and provide us with their honest “first reactions.” Listen to the tracks for yourself and let us know what you think:
