Vanessa Lynnae

UNDRGRND Issue 3 “Scenes Collide”

Vanessa Lynnae is your favorite rapper’s favorite rapper. Aside from her bars, her decade worth of experience as an artist shows in her consistency, professionalism, and overall way she carries herself. Representing her home of Ventura County, the Libra has spent time throughout her musical journey living in Camarillo, Calif. and now Simi Valley, Calif.

Lynnae told UNDRGRND she points to Drake, “old Eminem,” and Salt-N-Pepa as influences on her sound, and says her “dream 805 feature” is Oxnard’s Anderson .Paak. She dropped her most recent track, the high-energy “Think” in Sept. 2020, a follow-up to perhaps her most popular project, the Oct. 2018 Rocky Mesa III. A master of promotion and keeping her music relevant even without a ton of recent releases, Lynnae regularly performs at local shows and drops consistent visual content for her fans to enjoy (watch her “Get It” music video — trust me).

Outside of making music, Lynnae is a successful car salesperson, and graduated from Cal State University Monterey Bay with a double major in Business Marketing & Entrepreneurship. If she’s not in the studio or promoting her record label, Lochness Entertainment, you may find Lynnae at one of her favorite food spots in town: In-N-Out Burger or Toppers Pizza.

“As an artist, you are an entrepreneur. This is one of those things that I think a lot of artists don’t understand: the business side of it.”
