805/Los Angeles-based rap duo Wack05 is making noise with their newest single, “Range Rover,” which dropped on all platforms in late March in collaboration with DJ Atre. Produced by group member Foxy the Finesser (or Foxy), "Range Rover" features both Foxy and other Wack05 frontman, Captun (or Cap).

The song was recorded at Sonically Inclined Studios in Ventura, and has already pulled in over 30,000 streams across all platforms in it's first 90 days of

“The good reactions from showing people before the song was released," says Cap. "That’s why we decided to make this song roll out big. The people were saying it should be,” said Cap.

"We usually don’t care what the general public thinks," adds Foxy, "but we had a select few homies that listen to music casually hear a few songs, and each person selected ‘Range Rover' as their favorite."

The bold blue Range Rover on the cover art was a deliberate creative choice. The duo tells us that the blue is "very bold" and "stands out," but is still "sophisticated and dark."

"We didn't choose the color. The song itself chose the color,” says Cap.

Wack05 has been heavy on promo run since March, including an increase in media appearances, and even putting up physical posters all the way from Santa Barbara to Los Angeles.

“We put up a bunch of big posters with our street team," Cap says. "In clubs, local high schools — shoutout to Dylan and Gho$t for holding down the street team."

In addition, the duo partnered with DJ Atre to headline a club performance at The Tipsy Goat in Newbury Park, CA. According to a reliable source in attendance, "Range Rover" got the 805 crowd so hyped that DJ Atre played the song back-to-back.

“Wack05 hit me up because I had hosted the UNDRGRND Album, and they thought that was lit," DJ Atre says. "We threw my DJ tag on ‘Range Rover,' and I’ve just been pushing the song hard. It’s catchy, the beat goes crazy, and the hook is easy to play.”

With an EDM remix already out with Arizona-based DJ Ben Dro, Cap and Foxy both tease more remixes coming this summer.

"Expect some different colors for the cover arts of some new remixes," Cap says. "Oh, and expect an 805 remix next.”
